Diagnóstico do marketing ambiental de bens e serviços do setor florestal PFB - Pesquisa Florestal Brasileira

Foram realizadas coletas e análises em propagandas e campanhas publicitárias de empresas de produtos e serviços florestais em nove revistas e 91 websites do setor, buscando propagandas e ações de marketing que tivessem algum tipo de apelo ambiental, tais como termos ambientais, símbolo com apelo ambiental, selo de certificação e imagem com apelo ambiental. O “termo ambiental” está presente em 85,9 % das 157 propagandas pertencentes a diversos segmentos florestais. O setor florestal tem adotado o marketing ambiental como ferramenta de adequação ao mercado, com o intuito de atender uma sociedade cada vez mais crítica e consciente das problemáticas ambientais atuais. doi: 10.4336/2012.pfb.32.70.105

Estimate of Acacia mangium volume using techniques of artificial neural networks and support vector machines PFB - Pesquisa Florestal Brasileira

The present study aimed to show the results of Acacia mangium volumetric estimates obtained through the Schumacher and Hall model compared to the methods of artificial neural networks and support vector machines. To enable this comparative analysis, we used data from 31 trees of Acacia mangium aged 14–17, from a stand located in the northern region of the state of Amapá. Diameter and bark thickness of the trees were measured into relative heights along the stem into 14 sections (0.05%, 1%, 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 30%, 40%, 50%, 60%, 70%, 80%, 90%, and 95%), with measurement. Total volume with bark was obtained by applying the Smalian formula. In general, the methods that differ from traditional methods showed statistically superior results.

Modelos de distribuição de diâmetros utilizando a função log gama PFB - Pesquisa Florestal Brasileira

Objetivou-se neste estudo avaliar a eficiência da função log gama para a descrição da estrutura diamétrica de povoamentos equiâneos, bem como propor um modelo de distribuição diamétrica utilizando esta função. A função foi ajustada a dados de parcelas permanentes de inventário, mensuradas em seis idades. A aderência da função aos dados foi comprovada pelo teste Kolmogorov-Smirnov. A análise gráfica de resíduos não apresentou tendenciosidade para os modelos construídos. A função log gama pode ser utilizada para a construção de modelos de distribuição diamétrica de eucalipto.

Use of pearson type V, Weibull and hiperbolic function for modeling diameter distribution PFB - Pesquisa Florestal Brasileira

The objective of this study was to evaluate the efficiency of the function log-Pearson type V to describe the diametric structure of even-aged stands of eucalyptus and propose a model using this function. The modeling performed by the function log-Pearson type V was compared with the modeling performed with the Weibull function and hyperbolic. It was used data from permanent plots of eucalyptus stands located in the Midwest region of Minas Gerais State, Brazil. The function of Pearson type V was tested in three different configurations, with three and two parameters, and with the parameter replaced by the minimum diameter location of the plot.
